Château Lamery is situated at Saint Pierre d'Aurillac, 20 miles south-east of Bordeaux and is owned by Jacques Broustet, one of the very few biodynamic wine makers in Bordeaux. The estate is miniscule at only 3 hectares and Jacques has been making biodynamic wine here since 2006. Harvesting is carried out by hand, only natural yeasts are used and the wine is neither filtered not fined and no sulphur is used. A blend of 25% each of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, the wine is aged in oak for 9 months. Only 6,500 bottles are made annually so availability is necessarily limited.

A deep cherry-red in colour. Aromas of jammy summer fruits with a touch of earthy spice. On the palate, balanced and poised with well defined black fruit flavours and an excellent acidity. Ripe with sweet tannins, this has a lingering finish suggesting further black fruit notes. More like a super-ripe Burgundy than a blockbusting Bordeaux. Great with sautéed kidneys, roast rabbit or shoulder of lamb stuffed with garlic and mushrooms.
