Maria and Sepp Muster took over Sepp's parents 10-hectare winery in southern Styria in 2000. The vineyards themselves are planted up to 470 metres above sea level and clay and silt soil with outcrops of rock dominate the slopes. The influence of the nearby Koralpe mountain range lends a unique microclimate to the area leading to cool breezes and even cooler nights which are responsible for the character of the wines. The vines grow on lime soil composed of solid clay silt called 'Opok' which results in warm and aromatic wines with an intense acidity and floral backbone. Everything is biodynamic on the farm and work revolves around the Maria Thun calendar. The grapes for this vibrant Sauvignon come from 15 year old vines. They are hand harvested and destemmed before being fermented in 2400 litre wooden casks using only indigenous yeasts. The wine then spends 20 months in oak before release. It is neither filtered nor fined.

A pale gold in the glass. Scents of peach, grapefruit and ripe peach. On the palate, elegant yet intense with a racy acidity and floral notes. The finish is lengthy and intense. Great with pasta with basil, salmon carpaccio or fresh goat's cheese.
