The David family have been making wine in the Loire Valley since 1634, making Sebastien 15th generation winemaker! His 15 hectare domaine is situated at Saint Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and only Cabernet Franc is grown, mainly from vines planted by Sebastien's grandparents just after the 2nd World War. The vines grow on limestone and clay soils with a little gravel - ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Franc. All is biodynamic at the estate and the grapes are hand-harvested and sorted. Only naturally occurring yeasts are used and there is no additional sulphur. Hurluberlu (crankshaft in English) is a delicious, chillable red that is aged in clay amphora and pairs well with simple fish dishes.

A vibrant cherry-red in colour. Aromas of blackcurrants, raspberries and plums abound. On the palate, light and soft with a refreshing acidity leading to a spicy finish. Made for early drinking, this pairs well with grilled trout, noisettes of pork with prunes or a bacon, potato and sorrel omelette.
