The Caves Co-operative de Saint Mont has established a reputation for unrivalled consistency over the last 10 years and is now one of the best in France. Spread over 1300 hectares in the west side of the Gers department of southwest France, the company was founded in 1979 by Andre Dubosc who wished to return to traditional methods of making wine using local grape varieties only such as Ugni Blanc, Listan, Courbu and Gros Manseng. This particular white is a blend of two of the above - Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng - and is fresh and aromatic.

A pale straw in colour with scents of tropical fruits and toasted nuts. Fresh and floral on the palate the texture is firm and waxy with flavours of green apples and tropical fruits. The finish is lengthy with firm acidity. A great food wine! Try with sautéed kidneys in a cream and mustard sauce, grilled sea bass or a lightly spiced curry.
