Hacienda Grimon is based in the village of Ventas Blancas in the district of Lagunilla de Jubera, 15 minutes from the Riojan capital of Logrono. The current bodega was founded by Paco Grimon and his brother Eliseo in 1999 and the first wines were released in 2002. Today the 25 hectare estate is owned by the Olivan family and everything is organic at the farm with no use of herbicides or pesticides and sheep manure is used as fertilizer. The grapes are hand-harvested and yields are exceptionally low. Como lo Haria mi Abuelo (loosely translated this means 'as my grandfather used to do') is a blend of all of Rioja's 4 red varieties plus a little Viura and is lightly oaked.

A deep cherry-red in the glass. Scents of blackberries, bilberries and warm baking sices. On the palate, full-bodied and juicy with medium acidity and finely balanced tannins leading to a lingering finish. Try with beef cheeks braised in rioja, white bean stew with chorizo or roast cochinillo (suckling pig).
