The domaine was founded by Sylvain's grandfather who arrived in the village of Puligny in the late 1930's. Over the years the family has acquired 14 hectares of vines including 4ha within the celebrated Puligny-Montrachet and Puligny 1er Cru appellations including Les Perrieres and Les Folatieres. Additionally they own another nine hectares, producing wines under the local Bourgogne Blanc. Until Sylvain took over in the 1990s, all wine was sold to negociants. Today, all the wines are bottled on site and sold directly. This great-value organic Bourgogne Blanc comes from a single vineyard planted at Huillieres, a Village vineyard that spans both Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet. The vines are over 40yr old and the wine is vinified in 50% stainless steel and 50% French oak of which 5% is new. To be enjoyed now or keep for a further 6-8 years.
A pale golden in colour. On the nose, bright and lively, with hints of citrus fruit, almond and brioche. Upon tasting, balanced and fresh with a mineral backbone supported by a forward acidity and a persistent finish. Drink with chicken in a cream sauce, grilled pork chops or a wild mushroom risotto.
