Situated at Lentheric in the Languedoc appellation of Faugeres and recently voted one of the top 50 estates in the world, Didier Barral makes some of the finest wines in southern France. The 25ha estate, named after Didier's father, is completely biodynamic, yields are tiny and only wild yeasts are used in the vinification process. The VDP blanc is an aromatic blend of Terrets Gris and Blanc with a little Viognier and Roussanne and is lightly oaked and unfiltered. Intensely dry and honeyed, this makes for a perfect aperitif. Alternatively try with seafood or flavoursome fish dishes.
A pale straw-yellow in colour. A very aromatic nose of mangoes, pineapple and honey. On the palate, intensely dry yet full-bodied displaying further tropical fruit and citrus flavours. The finish is crisp and lively making this an excellent food wine. Superb with lobster. Also try with pan-fried turbot with a herb risotto or grilled sea bass with olives and lemon.
