Situated at Lentheric in the Languedoc appellation of Faugeres and recently voted one of the top 50 estates in the world, Didier Barral makes some of the finest wines in southern France. The 25ha estate, named after Didier's grandfather, is completely biodynamic, yields are tiny and only wild yeasts are used in the vinification process. Cuvee 'Jadis' is a blend of 50% Carignan, 40% Syrah and 10% Grenache. Bold and spicy, this is a great wine to accompany a rustic stew. Try wild boar!
A deep inky-purple in colour. The nose is packed with ripe plummy aromas backed up with plenty of black fruit and cherries. On the palate, full-bodied and smooth with excellent acidity and well-balanced tannins. Touches of dark chocolate and green herbs. The finish is crisp and lingering with earthy notes. Great with coustillous - grilled spare ribs with balsamic vinegar and harissa paste, gardiane de taureau (bullherd's beef stew served with white Camargue rice) or black olive tapenade on toast.
