The history of the Domaine goes back to the reign of Louis X1V although the wines of the region have been know since Roman times. The current owners are Annika and Serge Remusan who took over the estate in 1981 and today the vineyards cover 60 hectares, spread over 4 communes - Rochegude, the Uchaux Massif, Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes and Cairanne. Some of the Remusan's most expressive and elegant reds come from the chalk, limestone and marl soils that make up these vineyards, including this smooth and spicy Cairanne. A blend of Syrah and Grenache, this pairs excellently with grilled white meats.
An inky-purple in the glass. Scents of dark fruits and morello cherries. On the palate, restrained yet complex with notes of sweet spices and ripe berries. The finish is lingering and full-flavoured. Pair with lamb meatballs, Pot au Feu or beef cheeks in a red wine sauce.
