Continental Platter is a partnership between renowned Biodynamic/Natural Wine importer Les Caves de Pyrene and Australian distributor Puncheon Bottles based in Melbourne. The aim is to focus on producing a range of Australian wines from carefully sourced, quality fruit and delivering them to the market at exceptional value. The Pot a Cab Sav is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and comes from grapes grown biodynamically in the Margaret River region. The grapes are destemmed, macerated and fermented with natural yeasts in tank for one month before being aged in old oak barrels for 6 months. It is neither filtered not fined.
A bright cherry-red in the glass. The nose is aromatic and suggests bell pepper and pleasantly bitter spices. On the palate notes of coffee and bitter chocolate leading to a bright finish. The tannins are well balanced making this a great food wine with spiced tuna with saffron, braised ox cheeks or pan-fried Portabello mushrooms with garlic butter.
