The domaine was founded by Marie and the late Marcel Lapierre in association with Jean-Claude Chanudet in 1995. Between them they purchased the then bankrupt estate and have since breathed new life into the vineyards and cellar. The 13 hectares of Gamay vines are located mainly in Morgon although there is a small parcel of vines in Cotes du Py. The average age of the vines is 60 years and everything is carried out according to organic principles: the grapes are handpicked and there is very little intervention in the cellar. Today the estate is run by Marie and Marcel's son, Mathieu. 'Cuvee du Chat' is a collaboration between Mathieu and Jean-Claude Chanudet and is made from 70 year old vines situated in Morgon and Fleurie.

A deep ruby-red in the glass. A nose of cherries and raspberries with hints of cocoa. In the mouth, flavours of soft, deep, fresh red fruits, and an almost glossy mouthfeel. Citrusy notes and tannins appear at the back of the mouth, with a hint of grilled orange peel on the persistent finish. Great with jambon persillé, a simply roasted partridge or Toulouse sausages.
