Casa Azul is a large producer situated in the Rapel Valley in Chile's central zone. The grapes for their wines are sourced from both the Rapel Valley and the Curico Valley where the rich alluvial soils combine with a Mediterranean climate to produce wines with a characteristic freshness. This is a vibrant, fruit-driven red that would pair well with a chunk of Wensleydale cheese!
A dark ruby in colour. On the nose, aromas of cassis, black pepper and hints of mint. On the palate, mellow and silky in texture with flavours of black cherry and green olive. The finish is clean with notes of sweet black fruits. Pair with a rabbit terrine, pasta with a tomato marinara sauce or a simple cold roast beef sandwich.
