The Frentana Winery was founded in 1960 and was one of the original wine cooperatives in Abruzzo on Italy's north-eastern coast. The cellar is situated in Rocca San Giovanni in the foothills of the Maiella massif and the limestone/calcereous soils of the massif, combined with the gentle sea breezes off the Adriatic Sea, make this an ideal location in which to grow vines. This 100% Trebbiano is fermented in stainless steel tanks, accentuating its natural freshness and crisp orchard fruit flavours. Great as an aperitif, even better with light pasta dishes.
A straw-yellow in colour. On the nose aromas of apple blossom, pear and yellow plums. On the palate, refreshing and crisp with a mineral acidity leading to a short but smooth finish. Try with an orzo pasta salad with peppers, olives, celery and carrots, sautéed shrimp served with jasmine rice or a simple seafood risotto.
