Cantina Bernardi was founded in 1960 by Mansueto Bernardi. Today the winery is run by his sons, Pierluigi and Adriano aided by their sons - Mansueto's grandsons. The winery is based in the village of Refrontolo among the rolling hills of the 'Prosecco Wine Road' which leads from Valdobbiadene and Conegliano. The vineyards are situated in the heart of the DOCG region of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore and all the grapes are hand-picked. From the vineyards can be seen the symbol of the estate - the ancient mill of Molinetto della Croda in the Lierza Valley. Fior de Cassia ('Acacia Flower') is fermented at a slightly lower pressure than Bernardi's other Proseccos, making for a gentle sparkler; perfect with seafood.
A light golden-yellow in colour with a gentle mousse. On the nose, hints of pears, apples and candied lemon. Medium-bodied and lively on the palate with a balanced acidity and short finish. A Prosecco of great personality that would pair excellently with seared scallops, smoked eel or a slice of Italian Panettone.
