Bodegas Pirineos is a leading cooperative situated in Somontano in the foothills of the Pyrenees of northern Spain. The region has developed into a significant force within the Spanish wine industry, with a wide range of wine styles, and is one of the few wine-producing areas of Spain to have adopted a modern approach to wine making. Founded in 1993, there are now 200 skilled viticulturists who contribute to the cooperative and the vineyards are among the oldest in the region. The wines, by turn, are of the highest quality. The 'Montesierra' label has been developed by the co-op to showcase a range of varietals which at the same time represent great value for money. This fresh and bright red has moderate acidity and pairs well with spicy meat dishes.
A dark cherry-red in the glass. Scents of brambly black fruits with a hint of mint. On the palate, vibrant and spicy with youthful berry and spice undertones leading to a refreshing finish. Try with spicy chicken livers, roasted red pepper salad or beef skewers with orange and garlic.
