This rose comes from an excellent cooperative based in the village of Servian just to the north of Beziers in the Languedoc-Roussillon and is a shining example of the great value-for-money wines being made in the region at present. 'Terre du Sud' means 'soil of the south' and is classified under the Vin de Pays de Mediterranee - a sprawling wine region designated in 1999 that stretches from the Ardeche to Corsica. The Bergerie rose is a blend of Grenache Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and is fruity and ripe. An approachable summer glugger, it is perfect for barbecue dishes.

An inviting salmon-pink in colour. On the nose scents of strawberries and raspberries. Medium-bodied on the palate with balanced acidity and further red fruit flavours of plums and redcurrants with a touch of spice. The finish is fresh and fruity. Great with flavoursome seafood dishes such as clams with parsley and garlic. Alternatively try with fresh tuna and olives or aubergines stuffed with anchovies.
