The Viberti family having been making wine in the village of Vergne just outside Barolo for nearly one hundred years, and today that tradition is continued by Gianluca Viberti who has been running his 10 hectare estate since 2010. 'Casina Bric' translates into 'Hilltop Winery' and '460' refers to the altitude in metres above sea level of the vines, leading Gianluca to claim that his property is the most elevated in Barolo. A strictly organic approach to tending the vines is employed here and all the grapes are hand-harvested. This bold and exuberant red is made from 100% Nebbiolo which undergoes a lengthy fermentation before ageing in old oak barrels for up to 24 months. The wine is then aged in concrete vats for a further 9 months before bottling.

A deep ruby in colour. An intense bouquet of citrus fruits and balsamic on the nose. On the palate, fresh and elegant with delicate tannins and a balanced acidity. Pair with veal osso buco, pork agnolotti or risotto with truffles.
