This is a rare small-batch distilled gin made by the English Saffron Company based near Halstead in Essex. Starting life as vodka made from East Anglian sugar beat, it is then distilled in copper pot stills with botanicals including juniper berries, coriander, crushed macadamia nuts and fresh citrus, Finally it is infused with the best locally grown saffron!
A light copper-yellow in colour. On the nose bags of citrussy saffron notes. On the palate, rich and ripe with flavours of bitter orange and green herbs. Serve simply with crushed ice and a slice. Alternatively with dry Martini accompanied by a torn bay leaf.
