A vibrant and juicy pink made by the enfant terrible of Rioja, Gonzalo Grijalba. Having first studied biology at the University of Leon and then oenology at the University of Rioja, he proceeded to make biodynamic wine on his parent's land in the hills surrounding Fuenmayor. The Gran Cerdo Rosado is a blend of mainly Tempranillo with the addition of some Garnacha. As ever with Gonzalo, very little information is contained on the label other than a rant on the back label aimed at the bank managers who refused to lend him money to develop his business.
A vibrant stawberry-pink in colur. On the nose, aromas of red summer fruits and cherries with a hint of rose petal. On the palate, juicy and fruity with a balanced acidity leading to a refreshing finish. Uncomplicated summer glugger! Try with melon and Iberico ham, grilled anchovies or a fish tagine.
