The vineyards of Bodegas Honorio Rubio surround the small town of Cordovín in La Rioja Alta 20km south of Haro and 30km south east of Logroño, an area famous in northern Spain for making "El Clarete de Cordovín", a light refreshing rosé style wine. The family Rubio-Villar owns a total of 15 hectares spread across the region of Cordovín in La Rioja and controls production of another 60 hectares owned by wine growers from whom the family have purchased grapes for many years. The Rioja Clarete is a blend of predominantly Tempranillo with a splash of Rioja's white grape - Viura, and is light and dry.Perfect with grilled fish.
A delightful salmon pink in colour. On the nose fresh aromas of citrus fruits and summer red berries. On the palate, dry and refreshing with excellent acidity leading to a crisp finish. Try with mussel linguine with cherry tomatoes and chilli, vegetable terrine or grilled tuna with a green salsa.
