Alfredo Maestro began to make wine in 1998 when he planted his first vineyard, Almate, on the Rio Duraton in the Ribera del Duero. From the beginning everything was carried out strictly according to organic principles, but in 2003 Alfredo began to make natural wines containing absolutely no chemicals or added sulphites. Over the years the estate has grown to its current size of 9 hectares with the purchase of a number of abandoned or neglected vineyards around the Ribera del Duero. Now he is known as 'The Magician of the Duero' and is currently acknowledged as one of the most innovative natural winemakers in Spain. This aromatic and peachy orange wine is made entirely from the almost-extinct Albillo grape and is aged in French oak.
Concentrated aromas of baked apple, stone fruits and honeysuckle. On the palate, medium-bodied with a pronounced acidity and floral finish suggesting further tropical fruit notes. Try with a tuna salad, gazpacho or a roasted beet and grapefruit salad.
