The estate was established in 1970 in Contrada Ciafone, on the Adriatic coast of Le Marche and is now under the direction of brothers Massimiliano and Walter Bartolomei. The winery is located in the heart of the Piceno hills at Offida and the vineyards extend over an area of 130 hectares. Everything is organic and yields are low. This light and fresh white is from hand-harvested Verdicchio grapes - the most important white grape in Le Marche - and is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The excellent acidity makes this a great food wine particularly with robust green salads.
A straw-yellow in colour. On the nose, notes of lemons and limes with undertones of almonds. On the palate, light and crisp with a marked acidity and mineral backbone leading to a short and refreshing finish. Try with coniglio tonnato (rabbit with a tuna and tarragon sauce), risotto con vongole or a green lentil salad with buffalo mozarella and chilli.
