Collestefano was fully established in 1998 when Fabio Marchionni took over the estate that had been in his family for several generations. There are 18 hectares in total planted at 420 metres above sea level on limestone and chalk soil. The vines are situated adjacent to the Esino River and close to the Adriatic Sea, meaning that they enjoy a cool and dry microclimate - ideal for the cultivation of the Verdicchio grape. Everything is organic on the farm and the grapes are hand-harvested. Fermentation in stainless steel is lengthy and the resulting wine is unoaked.
A pale gold in the glass with green flashes. On the nose, aromas of lemon, grapefruit and almond. On the palate, dry, vivacious and bright with a forward acidity and refreshing finish. Brilliant food wine. Try with braised artichoke hearts, seafood risotto or gnocchi with garlic sauce and black truffle.
