This soft red comes from the Chieti region of Abruzzo on the east coast of Italy, just to the south of Pescara. The region stretches from the mountains down to the sea and the terraine is made up of sandy-clay soils. The gentle breezes from the Adriatic help create a favourably mild climate over the hills bringing just the right amount of rain and high levels of sunshine. This juicy blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano is fermented in stainless steel tanks. Light and fresh, with a whiff of fresh herbs and a palate of morello cherry and white pepper, this is an approachable red that works particularly well with pasta dishes. Try chilled!
A light ruby-red colour with orange hints. A delicate and intense bouquet of cherries and plums with pronounced violet notes. On the palate, dry, rounded and harmonious with plenty of further red fruit flavours leading to a spicy finish. Great with pasta e fagioli soup with cannellini and haricot beans, arrista al latte - pork loin seasoned with lemon zest, rosemary and garlic or pumpkin, ricotta and sage gnocchi.
