This refreshing white comes from the Lalande winery based in the heart of Beziers in the Languedoc and is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc. The vines for this wine are cultivated on soils composed of pebbly scree and clay from an area to the south-east of the city. The grapes are de-stemmed with a traditional vinification including two-week fermentation on skins. After a pneumatic pressing the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks giving a rounded, fruity white, packed with green fruit flavours.
A light golden in colour with zesty aromas of apples, lemons and ripe peaches. On the palate, refreshing and crisp with a mineral texture and notes of grapefruit and green apple with a hint of honey. A clean finish makes this an excellent sparkling aperitif. Serve with grilled sea bass, garlic chicken or Asian style pork with a spinach stir-fry.
