The organic domaine of Henry Pelle consists of 40 hectares covering 2 appellations - Sancerre and Menetou-Salon - and only Sauvignon Blanc (2/3) and Pinot Noir grapes (1/2) are grown on Kimmeridgean clay and limestone marl. The cellars are situated in the beautiful village of Morogues in the eastern region of the Loire Valley and the business is run by Anne Pelle, wife of the late Eric Pelle, assisted by oenologist Julien Zernott. This particular Pinot Noir has a citrus acidity and excellent structure. Perfect with goat's cheese.

A clear garnet-red in colour. On the nose, aromas of raspberries and cinammon with tomato hints. On the palate, fresh and clean with bristling acidity. Complex, earthy, vegetal flavours with notes of plush red fruit. The finish is short and spicy. Try with pheasant served with creamed wild mushrooms, pork noisettes served with prunes in a creme fraiche sauce or bacon-wrapped rabbit served with a fruit pesto and wild mushroom flan.
