This previously neglected 10 hectare domaine was purchased in July 2022 by Loire wine lover, Bernard Gault, with a view to creating a range of biodynamic and natural wines out of the village of Cravant-les-Coteaux in the heart of Chinon. Assisted by winemaker, Bernard Pele with input by renowned natural wine maker, Nicolas Reau, the first wine, 'Les Trois Piliers' ('3 Pillars') was released in the same year. Made from hand-harvested Cabernet Franc from organically-grown vines, this juicy red is raised and then aged in concrete vats. No added sulphur is employed and only naturally occurring yeasts are used. Can be served chilled as an aperitif or with robust fish dishes.
A light ruby in the glass. Scents of black cherry, violets and earth. On the palate, bright and fresh with a forward acidity and fragrant finish. Try with filet mignon, grilled pork chops or chilled with wild sea bass.
