Casa Azul is a large producer situated in the Rapel Valley in Chile's central zone. The grapes for their wines are sourced from both the Rapel Valley and the Curico Valley where the rich alluvial soils combine with a Mediterranean climate to produce wines with a characteristic freshness. This clean and fruity Chardonnay is from vines grown on rocky alluvial soils in the Maipo Valley and makes for a great food wine.
A golden yellow in the glass leading to a delightful bouquet of tropical and stone fruit aromas, backed by a zippy minerality. On the palate, rich and ripe plenty of buttery and tropical fruit flavours. The acidity is well balanced and the finish short yet refreshing. Altogether a very approachable wine. Try with grilled mackerel, roast chicken or slow roast pork belly.
